A Cricut Machine, Crochet Hook and Pinterest

Image
We knew we had three crafting tools - our Cricut Machine, my crochet hooks (and yarn) and Pinterest.  Cricut Machine I had no idea how much we would really use this machine when I asked for it for Christmas. I knew it would be fun and that we could make some stuff with it...but we have REALLY used the machine! The trick for our booth is to find a different use - there is a t-shirt person and there are a few others that have items.  One of our favorite items to sell is the Starbucks Cold Cups! We have lots of fun making them and have been able to sell several.  Summer Cups Fall/Halloween Cups We also have bags, signs and whatever else we can think up (and by think up...maybe find on Pinterest). Adding the Cricut Heat Press was one of the best additions for these fabric/iron-on projects! Crochet Hook & Yarn I definitely am "hooked" on crocheting. I now proudly own several different size hooks and have a lots of yarn to feed my habit...or crafting. I tend to gravitate to...

An ark and we went 2x2

It wasn’t rain that drew us to this ark, but the lure of antiques, flea market finds, and oh so many booths! One day, while scanning social media, there was a post from them showcasing a bookshelf that could be rented for what seemed a decent rate. That post was the beginning of this journey!  Here is a similar bookshelf, I couldn't find the actual posted picture (and I tried)... Could we fill a bookcase? What all would we put into it? Do we invest in this? I shared the possibility with Em and with her excitement added, we decided to ask about renting booths the next time we were at The Ark. Owner Ben not only showed us options within the store for booths, but also gave us advice. He told us to look throughout the store and see what others were selling…did we have something different to offer. That day we left with a copy of the contract, a completed tour and ideas building in our heads.  Ultimately the lure of having a booth won and we went back to see Ben. The details ...

Crochet Away

Life dealt me some stress and I needed something to distract my mind - enter crocheting.  I had thought about picking up crocheting and saw The Woobles on social media. I put it on my Christmas list and was gifted with my first project. I highly recommend these super cute kits! They have easy to follow videos for both left and right handed crocheting! This was HUGE for me as left-handed. All the materials are included, even a hook if you pay a little extra. And seriously…how cute is that bag?! Well, needless to say, I was hooked! And little Woobles and non-Wooble projects were piling up. What do you do with what you make?  Start dreaming about possibilities!

Welcome!

Welcome to Behind Dandelion Designs!  In April, my daughter and I started our small business with a booth at The Ark that we call Dandelion Designs. It has been so fun putting our crafting passion in front of the public in this way!  This was what our booth looked like when we first opened: And this is what it looked like recently: We have filled it, moved it and expanded it! What a great adventure! But there is more to each of those items, more to the adventure and that’s here this blog is going to pick up.
