An ark and we went 2x2

It wasn’t rain that drew us to this ark, but the lure of antiques, flea market finds, and oh so many booths!

One day, while scanning social media, there was a post from them showcasing a bookshelf that could be rented for what seemed a decent rate. That post was the beginning of this journey!

Here is a similar bookshelf, I couldn't find the actual posted picture (and I tried)...

Could we fill a bookcase? What all would we put into it? Do we invest in this?

I shared the possibility with Em and with her excitement added, we decided to ask about renting booths the next time we were at The Ark.

Owner Ben not only showed us options within the store for booths, but also gave us advice. He told us to look throughout the store and see what others were selling…did we have something different to offer. That day we left with a copy of the contract, a completed tour and ideas building in our heads.

Ultimately the lure of having a booth won and we went back to see Ben. The details are a little blurry to us now, but we didn’t get that bookshelf…we ended up in a cute pegboard space.

Here is another pic of that first space with our things moved in...

We bought the green "baker's rack" at our ReUse It for less than $10 and purchased the carpet off Walmart's clearance area. We reused a laundry basket for the quilt display. The booth came with two shelves (see right of picture) and they provided the pegboard hooks also! And with those beginning pieces our booth was born.

That, my friends, was the start of this "dandelion design" adventure - April 1st (we moved our things into the booth on March 30th). Em and I, the two of us, we are Dandelion Designs!

Don't wait for rain to board The Ark! Come see us and hang out with us here too if you'd like. We are enjoying the ride!

To begin to appreciate The Ark, check out this walk though by owner Ben. And keep an eye out when he gets to the Centipede Corner for our booth!
